Brown backing U.S. Rep. James V. Stanton of Cleveland for the Democratic nomination to the U.S. Senate? "Above all, he can win," explained Brown, as he accompanied Stanton to Dayton Monday on Stanton's tour to announce his candidacy.

Stanton, 43, is challenging the twice-defeated former Sen. Howard M. Metzenbaum for the Democratic Senate nomination. The winner of the June 8 Democratic primary gets will oppose U.S. Sen.
