EastEnders fans are calling for a fan favourite character to have a ‘dark and gritty’ storyline moving forward, saying they don’t get to do ‘anything serious’.
It's been a busy period on the BBC soap, with Phil Mitchell spending time in a mental health unit, Nigel Bates struggling with dementia and the planning of Martin Fowler's funeral cracking up the tension.

One character who hasn't had much to do so far in EastEnders 40th anniversary year is Kim Fox, with Tameka Empson playing the comedic role since 2009.
Known for her bubbly personality and strong on-screen chemistry with her sister Denise Fox, Kim is currently working on becoming a viral influencer.
While in the past Kim has had to give birth in a live episode and recover from PTSD after being in a car crash, it's been a long time since Tameka has had any drama to sink her teeth into.
Taking to the EastEnders Reddit page, @michaelmac4057 brought forward an idea that would give Kim lots to do in the future, but at the expense of someone close to her.
They wrote: “I love the funny scenes Kim brings but she is a good actress when it comes to dramatic scenes which i don’t think she gets enough of.

“I always thought a good storyline would be killing off Howie. i know it sounds drastic but I think as a character Howie is just kind of meh however I think killing him off in an unexpected way good make a good story for Kim
“This would then leave her and the solo carer to Denzel meaning they would both have to lean on each other during the difficult time and could lead to some powerful scenes between both actors. Think Nigel and Clare when Debbie died.”
The comments section of the post saw lots of fans of the show sharing their opinion of the potential storyline and suggesting what they want to see from Kim.
@Stpony said: “Something dark and gritty. Real hard-hitting drama. Something to show Tameka's range." @Dafydd_ argued: “Nooooo! I agree that Tameka would have no problem with acting the storyline, but after Vincent's death I don't want another of her men to die. Especially not postman and children's entertainer Howie! I just want her to get a new wig.”
@Spirit_cat83 wrote: “I love Kim too. She’s the one person who always makes me smile. I know she did a mental health story after her car crash. EE cover a lot of mental health which is great. I would like to see her in some kind of influencer scandal or similar as lots of that goes on and isn’t talked about often.”
@Dramallamaqueen_ commented: “Maybe they could revisit her anxiety storyline after the crash? Perhaps something happens that reignites it all.” @Fats33 posted: “Cancel culture storyline. Kim posts something offensive unintentionally and has to do deal with the fall out of being cancelled, impact on income, friendships and family.”
Meanwhile, Tameka recently opened up during an apperance on BBC Radio London about how she isn't a a fan of having people 'scream' at her with fame leading to some awkward encounters for her.
"I went to a friend's mother's funeral... There is sometimes no limits, and I don't know if it is the character that I'm playing, but I'm very respectful.
"You go to a funeral, you know, it's not about taking selfies or anything like that. This woman, as we were going down to view the body, she said, 'Oh, may I have a picture with you'," she said.

Adding that she was also asked if she could ‘sign the order of service as well’, Tameka revealed how she managed to get out of the awkward situation.
"I'm like, 'Miss, I'm just walking down here', and then she got me again outside of the church to take a picture and I said, 'I just don't think this is the right place or time'," she said.
